Texas Instruments unveils the newest member of its TMS320C64x DSPs, with a new chip that claims more MMACS (millions of multiply-accumulates) per dollar, and per watt, than competing products. With a 250-mW core, TI's latest 'C6411 is claimed to be the lowest power DSP in its class, yet deliver 300-MHz/2,400 MIPs/1,200 MMACS.
