New ProductsSingle Board Computer

The SBC-558 is a powerful single board computer with an integral CRT/LCD controller, 100Base-TX Ethernet, latest DiskOnChip capability, and two serial ports. Equipped with Intel Tillamook Pentium 266MHz CPU and 430TX chipset, the SBC-558 can handle a wide range of mid- to high-end embedded applications. Its low power consumption and fanless design allows for an extremely quiet board that is suitable in fields such as medical equipment, automation, telecommunications, and security systems.

The SBC-558 incorporates the 82559ER Fast Ethernet controller that provides 100Mbps-network capability and is fully compatible with traditional 10Base-T facilities. A 144-pin SODIMM socket to allow up to 128MB of memory to be installed. The C&T 69000 chipset supports 36-bit TFT LCD displays and allows simultaneous viewing of LCD and CRTs. Its SSD socket supports M-System DiskOnChip for system boot-up and memory storage of up to 288MB.

The half-size SBC-558 employs PC/104 Plus modular system architecture providing PCI bus function as well as a compact and rugged design for building control and embedded systems. The SBC-558 is also equipped with two high speed serial ports (one RS-232, one RS-232/422/485), one multi-mode (ECP/EPP/SPP) parallel port, a floppy drive controller, IrDA interface, an Ultra DMA/33 enhanced IDE controller, and a keyboard and PS/2 mouse interface.

The SBC-558 sells for $530.
