The TouchLite TL2100 is a Windows
CE-based portable computer that offers rugged construction, a number
of display options, a variety of interface capabilities, and low cost
of ownership. Based around a 486 microprocessor running at 66 MHz,
it is an ideal solution for industrial and commercial applications
such as factory floor automation, commercial and agricultural in-vehicle
use, process control, and field service communications and data collection.

Three display options for various light
conditions and cost requirements are available. A 6.1" 640 x 480 full
VGA TFT transmissive color display for indoor use; a low cost 320
x 240 transreflective monochrome display for readability in sunlight;
and a 320 x 240ý VGA color display, which provides a cost effective
solution for sunlight readability.
The TouchLite TL2100 offers two serial
ports (one configurable as RS-232.422 or RS-232/485) and two PCMCIA
slots (Version I and II - Type I, II, and III). An IrDA interface
with front and rear facing transceivers and a Multi Port Adapter with
an Ethernet (10BaseT) connection provide wireless network and Internet
capability. Other options include various memory configurations, SoundBlaster
compatible audio, and extended I/O (COM3 and COM4, parallel and keyboard).
The TouchLite TL2100 features an impact
modified, thermoplastic housing with silicon rubber handgrips and
the ability to withstand at least a four foot drop to concrete. With
power management, a NiMH battery provides eight hours of continuous
operation.
