Voltage
Reference
The Model 306 Voltage Reference provides
an accurate source of positive or negative DC voltage and 1000 Hz
AC voltage. It uses a microprocessor to control a pair of digital-to-analog
converters (DACs); one for DC output, the other for AC. Front panel
switches increment and decrement the digital count to the DACs and
vary the output voltage. A menu on the lower line of the LCD display
is used to select voltage range, mode (AC or DC), and DC polarity.
(Voltage, range and mode are shown on the upper display line.)

The instrument can also be controlled
from a PC computer by means of an RS-232 serial connection. An MS-DOS
control program written in "C" and a Visual Basic program
for Windows95/98 are provided to program voltage step size and duration.
The latest versions are freely available for download from their web
site.
The Model 306 provides a DC output of
zero to ý5.000 V in 1 mV or 100 mV steps (Low Range) and zero to ý10.000
V in 2 mV or 100 mV steps (High Range). It provides an AC output of
zero to 4.000 VRMS, 2 mV or 100 mV steps (Low Range) and zero to 8.000
VRMS, 4 mV or 100 mV steps (High Range). AC frequency is 1000 Hz ý2%
The Model 306 is housed in an Aluminum
enclosure that measures 8-1/4 x 7-3/4 x 4-1/4 inches and weighs 2.6
pounds. It comes complete with printed User Guide covering operation,
circuit description, schematic diagrams, and parts list. Control software
on a 3.5-inch diskette and a 24 VAC "wall wart" are also provided.
(User Guide in pdf format may also be downloaded from the web site.)
The Model 306 Voltage Reference sells
for $359.
