John M. Hughes is an embedded systems
design engineer with over 25 years of experience. He has worked on
designs ranging from scientific data acquisition and control systems
for astronomy applications on some of the worldýs leading telescopes,
to aircraft systems management avionics and jet engine controls. He
is a coauthor of several papers dealing with astronomical adaptive
optics systems. John currently teaches in-house technical classes
and is a project manager for his employer in Tucson, Arizona. He may
