PLATFORM
LIBRARY KIT
The Jump Start V.2.11 Platform Library
Kit (PLK) for the Embedded Intel Architecture Family Development Kit
(EIAFDK) is a complete board-support package that enables PC-compatible
hardware to run the Windows CE operating system off-the-shelf without
adaptation, driver development, or MS-DOS. The EIAFDK is an evaluation
kit to support the recently announced Pentium II processor-low power
module, Pentium processor, and Celeron processor modules, designed
specifically for embedded applications.
Jump Start provides the basic adaptation
to an embedded PC by using the existing BIOS and eliminates the need
for DOS by providing a bootloader. It has basic PC drivers not included
in Microsoft's Platform Builder and also includes a build tree for
the Platform Builder where the driver DLLs have been placed in subdirectories.
A developer only needs to copy the board- support package into the
platform and public directories of the Platform Builder and create
a shortcut to the board-specific image. Everything is in place to
download and begin debugging the application.
Jump Start PLK V.2.11 has been modified
to work with the newly released V.2.11 of Microsoft's Platform Builder
and expanded to include many new drivers. Also included in Jump Start
is CE Launcher, which enables Windows CE to boot on embedded PCs without
the aid of MS-DOS, thereby reducing licensing costs and memory requirements.
Annasoft Systems provides software and development services for modifying
drivers to specific platforms and custom drivers as well as hardware
adaptation and software integration services. The Jump Start PLK sells
for $4995.
