This article is based on the Design Project Reports from two fourth-year
student teams working cooperatively. The team members responsible
for developing the base station and video multiplexer were Roxana
Davis, Muhammad Ikram, Nima Lotfizadeh, and Helen Luo. The second
team, Anita Antony, Johnny Chan, James Dang, and Skylar Lei, handled
the remote camera system. Thanks to Warren Flaman, Departmental Technician,
for his help and for looking the other way when the teams needed parts.
Skylar Lei is currently a software
engineering graduate student at the University of Calgary. Her long-term
interest is in embedded systems. Skylar can be contacted via Jim Haslett.
Jim Haslett was the main customer
for this project. He is an electrical engineering professor at the
University of Calgary. His interests are microelectronics and instrumentation.
You may reach Jim at haslett@enel.ucalgary.ca.
Michael Smith was the Team Design
Project Course Coordinator in the Electrical and Computer Engineering
department at the University of Calgary. He teaches about embedded
systems and software engineering, and researches in the biomedical
engineering area. You may reach him at SmithMR@ucalgary.ca.
