Two-Port
PCMCIA Card
The PC-COMM+232
provides two asynchronous serial ports for connecting to modems, terminals,
printers, and other data collection devices.
The PC-COMM+232
uses the 16850 UART with a large 128-byte buffer to allow high-speed
data communications without data overruns. A 12ý pigtail cable terminating
in two DB-9P connectors is included. The cable features a positive
locking connector that secures to the PCMCIA card and eliminates unwanted
cable disconnects. Some operating systems supported include Windows
95/98/NT/00 and Linux.
A suite of software
is included with the PCMCIA card. The software allows control of features
not available in the standard Windows serial driver, such as enhanced
UART support for 16650, 16850, and 16950 UARTs, RTS enable, and interrupt
sharing capabilities.
WinSSD is a diagnostic
utility for Windows 95/98/NT/00. WinSSD allows you to verify the board
IRQ and address settings, modify the default UART parameters, perform
internal and external loop back tests, toggle modem control signals,
and transmit test pattern messages. WinSSD also allows terminal mode
operations, BERT, and throughput monitoring.
The PC-COMM+232
(RS-232) supports data rates up to 230 Kbps and costs $299.
The version that supports data rates of 460 Kbps costs $349.
