Single
Board Computer
The POS51 is a single-board computer
specifically designed for industrial control and other applications
that require a broad temperature range, significant processing capabilities,
and limited space. The computer provides virtually all of the control
functions required for demanding point-of-sale and kiosk computer
systems, including those for industrial automation, control, and retail
applications. Its low-power consumption allows it to operate over
a broad temperature range without the need for a fan on the processor.
This feature makes it ideal where product requirements necessitate
using a board that runs reliably over an extended temperature range.

The board features the Intel Pentium
processor and Intel 82439 TX chipset with 32-MB onboard memory. Memory
and speed are optimized using two SIMM sockets for up to 512 MB of
extended data output (EDO) DRAM and 512 KB of pipelined burst cache.
The Intel 69000 graphics controller is integrated with 2- or 4-MB
video-display memory and the ELO TouchSystems touch screen interface.
A TI 1394 FireWire controller supports data transfer rates of up to
100, 200, or 400 Mbps, and an optional Intel 82559 32-bit PCI Ethernet
controller supports 10 or 100 Mbps Ethernet networks.
The POS51 supports three general-purpose
RS-232 ports and one port dedicated to the ELO touchscreen. Two bidirectional
parallel ports (one ECP/EPP/IEEE 1284 and one ECP/EPP) enable fast
peripheral communications. A riser card connector for ISA/PCI bus
expansion with secondary FIDE and floppy connections is included.
The POS51 pricing begins at $595
in OEM quantities.
