New Products Low-Cost, Low-Power LCD

The PC6222C2 is a 90 ý 40 pixel monochrome graphics display suitable for any portable battery-driven application. To conserve battery life in handheld applications, the LCD features a single supply operation from 1.8 to 3.5 V and a low current sleep mode. The module is capable of operating in extreme temperatures from ý10 to 55ý C with a storage temperature from ý20 to 70ý C. Measuring only 35.5 ý 27.7 ý 1.7, the PC6222C2 has an effective display area of 32.5 ý 17.8 mm, offering designers a large viewing area in a small overall package size.

The display is a high-contrast FSTN type in reflective mode capable of giving excellent readability, and includes an LCD driver/controller chip mounted directly to the LCD glass panel. Many display control functions are included: Display ON/OFF, Normal/Reverse Display, Set LCD Bias contrast controls, Power Save, and internal 132 ý 65 graphics display data RAM. The PC6222C2 allows for a high-speed parallel 8-bit microprocessor interface to either the 8080 and 6800 type microprocessors, connection is via FPC cable with Hotbar solder. Alternatively, a serial interface may be used.
