Single-Board Computer

The VSBC-6 single-board computer is designed for OEM control projects that require fast processing, industrial I/O, flexible memory options, and high reliability. The EBX-compliant 8ðin x 5.75in board features a 400-MHz AMD K6-2 processor, PCI-based video, flat panel support, Ethernet, PC/104-Plus expansion, and USB interface.

Memory options include 2 to 144 MB of DiskOnChip Flash, 8 to 128 MB of system RAM, 512 KB of battery-backed SRAM, and 256 KB of L2 cache. Software compatibility includes QNX, Windows CE/NT/95/98, Windows NT Embedded, VxWorks, Linux, and other popular operating systems.

On-board industrial I/O include eight 12-bit analog inputs, two RS-232/422/485 COM ports, 16 digital I/O lines (opto 22 plug compatible), and three extra timers. Other on-board I/O include dual IDE, USB, CRT/flat panel interface, and 10-Mb Ethernet. A high-speed PC/104-Plus site supports I/O expansion. For high-reliability applications, the board includes error-correcting circuitry, a watchdog timer with true hardware reset capability, latching I/O connectors, and latching high-reliability memory sockets.

The 400-MHz version of the VSBC-6 is $767 in 100-unit quantities. Intel Pentium, slower speed, and customized versions are available.
