Controller
The CP301
is a low-power, high-performance Mobile Pentium III-based 3U CompactPCI
system controller, and is ideally suited for applications that donıt
require a monitor, keyboard, or mouse, or for space-limited applications
that demand a perfect fit. The controller, with its innovative design
incorporating the small form factor, passive cooling, and soldered
SDRAM (supporting ECC), is also ideal for harsh environments requiring
resilience to shock and vibration.

The controller
utilizes the industry-recognized 440BX chipset and offers a new, selectable
processor performance range of 400 to 700 MHz. The Intel CPUs and
chipset are part of the Intel embedded road map, promising up to five-year
availability. The device also offers 64-bit PCI, fast Ethernet, and
standard PC interfaces, including optional support for M-Systemsı
DiskOnChip (up to 288 MB) PMC expansion, integrated 2.5ı" HD/flash
memory drive, and a rear I/O version with selectable transition modules.
The controllerıs broad operating support includes Windows NT Embedded,
VxWorks, QNX, and Linux.
System memory
may be expanded to 384 MB with an optional 256-MB SODIMM, and the
controller may be configured for remote boot via LAN using either
DHCP or BOOTP protocols. The 400-MHz version offers typical power
consumption as low as 12.5 W and is available in E2 (ı40ı to 85ıC)
temperature range.
The CP301 starts
at $2550 (5OO-MHz CP301 equipped with 128 MB of SDRAM).
