NEW PRODUCT NEWSedited by Rick Prescott

New ProductsRAID System

The RAID I/O Flyer III is potentially the least expensive RAID subsystem around. Based on earlier subsystems, this RAID system offers an even higher performance and larger capacity. The system is ideally suited for commercial, industrial, educational, government, and consumer markets where fault-tolerant data storage is needed to protect programs, files, records, graphics, and other vital data.

This device boasts features such as low-cost design, host-independent, and easy set up. New high capacity and controller design offers the customer a RAID solution that provides high availability at approximately the same cost as JBOD (just-a-bunch-of-disks) solutions. The device plugs into any host system with anSCSI port. It can also be set up using an RS-232 port or its easy-to-use LCD panel. Installation can be completed in less than five minutes.

The 81.6-GB RFIII-6008/81600-EXT is priced at $5,964. Models with a storage capacity of 163, 246, 327, 491, or 655 GB are also available.
