FIBER
OPTIC SENSOR
The new Dl0
Expert is a high-performance fiber optic sensor featuring
dual output channels with independently configurable setpoints that
enable it to solve challenging applications, with as little as 1%
contrast. The sensoręs advanced 16-bit microprocessor and Teach mode
programming deliver 12-bit A/D resolution within a 300-mm (12ę")
range. The sensor is available with a choice of dual discrete outputs,
or a single discrete output paired with a single 0ę10 VDC analog output,
and can be used to replace numerous sensing devices.
Analog output
models feature AUTO-SPAN (patent-pending) scalable output that distributes
the analog output signal over the width of the programmed sensing
window automatically to provide the most continuous, most consistent
response possible. This unique feature streamlines set up and provides
maximum resolution in electrically noisy environments.
An advanced LCD
display provides continuous configuration and performance data, making
it remarkably easy to set up and operate. Displayed data includes
Running mode, channel selected, signal strength (excess gain), sensing
contrast stability, timing function, settings locked/unlocked, and
light/dark operate. Immediately after programming, the display provides
accurate indication of sensing contrast at a glance. Separate LEDs
for each channel are light yellow when that output is conducting and
can be seen from all sides. A gate input inhibits the sensoręs outputs
during inactive portions of an inspection cycle, eliminating false
signals and the need for an additional sensor.
Cost for the D10
Expert is $159.
