NEW PRODUCT NEWSedited by Harv Weiner

New ProductsData Acquisition Module

The ADC-11/12 is a compact data acquisition module that connects to the parallel port of a desktop or laptop PC and provides 11 channels of analog input.

The device provides 0.5% accuracy, 0.61-mV resolution, and gives one-part-in-4096 accuracy without needing a power supply. The ADC-11/12 is ideal for slow-moving 0 to 2.5-V data like temperature sensors. A digital output is provided for control purposes or alarm functions, and can be used to power sensors. By connecting suitable sensors, virtually any physical quantity can be measured.

PicoLog data acquisition software is supplied free with the ADC-11/12. It replaces chart recorders and plug-in data acquisition boards and allows the computer to display and record voltages. The system can record at 10,000 samples per second and, when used with PicoScope software (included), offers all the functions of a conventional oscilloscope or spectrum analyzer.

In addition, the software allows programmable alarm limits to be set for each channel. LabView and VB drivers are provided, as well as an Excel macro for collecting data directly into a spreadsheet. An optional terminal board converts the DB-25 input connector into screw terminals to simplify connection to the converter inputs.

The ADC-11/12 module comes complete with software starting at $249.
