TouchScreen
Microcontroller
The TSHARC-XXsc
single-chip analog resistive touchscreen controller chip for embedded
applications supports RS-232, P-92, ISA-Bus and 3-wire serial communication
and allows for dynamic selection of 4, 5, 7 and 8 wire analog resistive
touchscreens regardless of manufacturer or construction.

This high-performance
device is the only chip needed to decode an analog resistive touchscreen.
Algorithms to decode, filter, average, and debounce are built in and
supply an after-process sample rate of 140 points per second. The
TSHARC-XXsc is equipped with an onboard 10-bit or 12-bit A/D converter
that delivers 1024 ý 1024 or 4096 ý 4096 resolution. This single chip
solution costs slightly less than other chip solutions and can be
integrated using 50% less PC board real estate. The chip is available
in 18- and 20-pin DIP, SCIC, or SSCP chip packages.
Chip packages
cost less than $10 and include standard device drivers and
engineering support. Device drivers for DOS, Win9x, ME, NT, 2000,
CE, QNX, and Linux are included and may be private labeled for little
additional cost. Custom OS or embedded drivers are also available.
