New industrial
PC workstations feature bright 15-inch TFT LCD displays and sturdy
NEMA 4/12 steel chassis. Sealed aluminum front panels and membrane
keyboards fight off tough industrial environments.

Workers can spot
details easily on new N4W 1540 workstations with bright 200-nit (200
cd/m2) active-matrix TFT LCD displays. These screens display 64,000
colors with a maximum resolution of 1024 ý 768 pixels. A video adapter
with 2 MB of VRAM speeds speeds the conversion of raw data to comprehensible
graphic images. An optional analog resistive touchscreen is also available.
A membrane keypad on the workstation protects delicate contacts from
water, oil, and dust. The built-in keypad provides 59 alphanumeric
keys, including 10 function keys. The front-panel touchpad pointer
emulates a PS/2 mouse.
The most popular
workstations include a 10-slot passive backplane that can be configured
for 4 PCI, 1 CPU, and 5 ISA slots, or 7 PCI, 1 CPU, and 2 ISA slots.
Other models offer 12.1- and 10.4- inch displays with numerous backplane
options.
