INSTALLING THE BYPASS CAPACITORS
Now that youýve got the hang of soldering
in SMT land, go ahead and install the 0.1-ýF bypass capacitors (C11,
C12, and C15) on the Ethernet side of the Ethernet Development Board.
As you can see in Photo 5, there are only three 0.1-ýF bypass capacitors
on the Ethernet side of the Ethernet Development Board. Just in case
you havenýt noticed, the SMT caps are not marked, so be careful not
to confuse parts as you prepare to solder them down. Before you complete
the assembly of the smaller SMT components on the Ethernet side, letýs
talk about why those components are there.

practice. Youýll need it for the other side of the Ethernet
Development Board. |
