NEW PRODUCT NEWSedited by Rick Prescott

New ProductsSmall Power Entry Module

The KM/KMF keeps pace with the ever-increasing demand for smaller power entry modules by integrating five functions in a 2ý ý 1ý package. Typical applications include office, medical, computer, and telecommunications equipment.

The unit contains one AC power inlet, a one- or two-pole on/off switch, and a one- or two-pole fuse holder. It can be fitted with EMC options such as a ground shield and RFI filter.

The metal ground shield has multiple contact points on the panel. It is tied to the ground terminal for optimal EMC grounding to the chassis. The shield and RFI filter provide conducted and radiated attenuation at frequencies greater than 30 MHz. Filters are available in both standard and medical versions for up to 10 A at 250 V.

The fuse holder is panel accessible. It accepts one or two 5- ý 26-mm fuses and is safe from shock according to EN/IEC 60127-6, PC2. Fuses are available in fast acting, time-delay, and high and low breaking according to EN/IEC 127-2.

The easy-to-install unit comes with a back cover and is wired. It is secured with four independent snap arms for a 1.5-mm panel. Switch and ground terminals are .187ý quick-connect for easy hookup.

Pricing for the KM starts around $6.
