ANYGATE IN A STORM

MOOREıS UNLAW

So, now weıve got AnyGate. A few months back, I covered OneGate from ON Semiconductor. Whatıs next, NoGate? Speed will be excellent because NoGate means no gate delay, right? I suppose itıll also be NoPower, but Iım sure it wonıt be NoPrice.

Micrelıs latest quarterly financial report states revenues are up 72% from a year ago and profits have more than doubled. I guess it shouldnıt be a surprise because any company that can pull off charging more than 10 bucks a gate ($10.25, in 1000s) definitely has bright prospects. AnyGate sets a new high (low?) in pricing, putting Mooreıs law on its head.

Hold on Mr. Moore, donıt get any ideas. Thereıs no way Intelıs getting a million bucks per chip!
