PC/104-PLUS
MODULE
The EPM-NET-100 provides a dual-speed
Ethernet interface (10BaseT/100BaseTX) and up to 144 MB of onboard
flash for program and data storage, allowing PC/104-Plus users to
be compatible with 10-Mbps Ethernet networks now, and run at 100 Mbps
when their network is upgraded. The autosensing 10BaseT/100BaseTX
interface automatically switches to match the hub speed.

The board uses the PCnet-FAST III Ethernet
controller from AMD, which features a 32-bit PCI bus master interface
and 12 KB of internal SRAM for communications buffering. An optional
Ethernet boot-ROM site allows the system to automatically boot from
a server at powerup, eliminating the need for a local disk drive or
boot device.
The NET-100 also supports onboard flash
storage with a 32-pin DiskOnChip site. It supports plug-in, bootable,
nonvolatile storage of 4-144 MB using DiskOnChip2000 chips from M--Systems.
Under most operating systems, the DiskOnChip site supports file-type
read/write access, as well as system booting, from the totally nonvolatile
solid-state storage.
The EPM-NET-100 features a wide range
of driver support and is compatible with most desktop and real-time
operating systems.
It sells for $204 in quantities of 100+.
