Simple IIR Filters

Continuing my discussion of fundamental DSP components, this column focuses on simple IIR (recursive) filters. Often coded inline, these constructs can be quite useful and can provide simple solutions to some interesting DSP problems. Engineers typically design such filters with the help of commercial software and implement them as function calls. Instead, letýs review how to roll your own filters to meet specific needs.
