Be Careful With Clock Demons!

Your clock needs big and fast current transients from your power Dr. Art with Clock Demonsupply (typ. +3V or +5V). Think of fast as "with high frequency energy components." If you do not prevent it, current demand will flow through the power and ground buses. You can expect radiation or common impedance problems in such a situation (e.g., big loops or common GND layout with susceptible circuits).
