Dennis
L. Feucht is the director of Innovatia Laboratories, an
electronic product design and licensing enterprise. He has
been involved in motion control and power electronics design
since 1985. He has since consulted on medical instrument
design, internal combustion engine thermodynamics modeling,
airbag manufacturing test equipment, and rocket propulsion
and flight control components. (See www.innovatia.com
for details.) Dennis has also written the book Analog Circuit
Design (Academic Press, 1990), and is interested in
alternative-energy systems (solar PV, wind, and fuel cells) and in
advancing motor-drive and power conversion and control through
the invention of new techniques. If you would like to ask Dennis

A Current Amplifier Driving an Inductive Load
Motor windings, deflection yokes, solenoids, and inductance
heaters present inductive loads to the amplifiers that drive them. A feedback current amplifier that can drive
these loads with a flat frequency response requires careful attention to the sense resistor.
