Detection and Correction Using the BCH Code We are looking at the BCH error detection and correction code, going first through some preliminary background on the mathematical basis of code. Now that we have a field in which to do computations, what we need next is a philosophy for encoding and decoding data in order to detect and possibly correct errors. Here we are taking advantage of results discovered by the hard work of perhaps a hundred individuals just in the last 50 years.
