While all engineering
products and processes need to have reliability designed into them to minimize
or mitigate failure, the very nature of some products and processes necessitate
that reliability engineering in the form of reliability prediction and reliability
analysis be integral to the design process at all levels. Robert Poltz implemented
the design analyses for aerospace reliability of the Space Station Electrical
Power System.
Robert Poltz is Reliability Consultant, President and CEO of Design Analytx
International, worldwide leader in Reliability of Design Engineering Analyses
of High Tech Systems. Design Analytx International CARES (Computer Aided
Reliability Engineering Services).

Fault Tree Analysis
Fault tree analysis was created and developed in the
1960s, and was adopted by the nuclear power industry to analyze the safety of their electric power systems.
Fault tree analysis is a probabilistic deductive systems analysis tool that provides a pictorial system
representation using Boolean logic gates in a vertically oriented tree formation.
