System demands for increasing clock speeds and new low voltage levels are driving the adoption of high-performance, low-voltage I/O standards. Gunning Transceiver Logic Plus (GTL+) is used in processor interfaces and backplane drivers to allow high-speed communication with various modules in the system. Stub Series Terminated Logic - 2 and 3 (SSTL-2/3) is used in memory interfaces, supporting the high-frequency operation of modern SDRAM.
