Beta Dyne announces the release of a new series of 75W single-output DC/DC converters that feature industry standard pinout in a package smaller than a 1/4 brick at only 1" x 2.3" x 0.4". The converters achieve high efficiency up to 93% and power density of 98W/cu. in. via patented designs that utilize improved synchronous rectification techniques and planar magnetics. Their high efficiency, coupled with a multilayer PCB and thermal management, minimize power dissipation and allow the converters to operate without an external heatsink. The through-hole pins allow for low-cost installation and act as an integrated heatsink. The converters also feature 100ıS transient response time, 500ıA off-state current, output synchronous rectification, 2:1 input voltage range, input-to-output isolation, soft start, short circuit protection, thermal protection, undervoltage protection, and external synchronization. The sixteen models offer various input and output voltages to meet the needs of the Instrumentation, Industrial, Medical, Communications, Computers, and Fiber Optics fields. Units are available 4-6 weeks ARO. Pricing starts at $99.00 each, discounts available for larger quantities.

Planar magnetics and advanced synchronous rectification allowed Beta Dyne to introduce a new family of 75W DC/DC converters with higher power densities in a package that is smaller than the 1/4 brick package. In addition to the high efficiency achieved with the new series, improved thermal performance was realized utilizing multi-layer power PCB design, which eliminates the need for a heatsink. With more than 16 models available, the new series fit various industrial, medical and telecom power applications.
