Beta Dyne Announces the Highly Flexible U30 30W Universal Dual DC/DC Converter

The U30 is perhaps our most flexible and customizable design to date. Incorporating patented technology, the U30 has an operating range that extends from 10-30, 22-68, and 40-120Vdc. The converter features synchronous rectification for its main output Vo2 and rectifying diodes for its auxiliary output Vo1. Customers can specify any output voltage range from 2.5V to 18V for Vo1 and Vo2. Vo2 can deliver 25W, while Vo1 can deliver up to 10W with a total output power of 30W. The U30 can be set to accept an external sync signal or provide a sync signal as master to synchronize other slave units. Its input stage is designed to meet UL60950 and EN55022 specifications. The U30 features up to 85% efficiency, synchronous rectification, 3:1 input voltage range, input under/overvoltage protection, input-to-output isolation, soft start, master/slave synchronization, hiccup mode, 2mA off state current, adjustable outputs, 330kHz switching frequency, thermal protection, dual isolated outputs, six-sided shielding, and optional external synchronization. Package size is 2"x2"x0.5". The U30 is ideal for Instrumentation, Communications, DSL Power, Computers, and Test Equipment. The great flexibility afforded by its design means customers can specify their own models; the product data sheet exhibits some example models. Units are available 4-6 weeks ARO. Price is $69.00 per unit, discounts available for larger quantities.

The wide and flexible operating range along with the easy configuration of the output voltages allow users to users to easily specify their input and output voltage requirements. This also allows manufacturers to standardize their designs for a wide variety of applications, thus simplifying their manufacturing while expanding their product offerings.
